Does each scene earn its button?

It is easy to create scenes. It is harder to create five that people can distinguish and remember. If two settings feel almost identical, the extra choice may be doing more work for the installer than the user.

The title is deliberately provocative. Some spaces need several scenes. I want each one to correspond to a real activity or a meaningful change in atmosphere.

Start with the everyday setting

Get the ordinary button press right first. Then ask what it cannot do. A brighter cleaning setting or a gentle night route may have a clear purpose. A collection of mood names may not.

I prefer plain labels based on use. People should not need to remember which invented name gives them enough light to read.

Keep the adjustment available

A scene is a starting arrangement, not an instruction to the occupant. Dimming and manual changes should still feel natural.

After some time in use, remove settings that nobody touches and tune the ones that matter. A smaller set of well-used choices is a better outcome than a full control panel.
